At the start of every precept I taught this semester, I invited my students to complete a short mindfulness activity with me.
For up to five minutes, I encouraged students to turn off their cameras and either participate in the exercise or use the time to do whatever would help them learn best that day.

- 1-minute meditation (this website has many more that I used)
- Self-compassion break (longer but worth it)
- Headspace (I used meditations available with the premium subscription — they have a student deal that is $9.99/year — but they have plenty of free exercises, too)
